In today's video we are talking about how to smoke ribs on a pellet grill! For this video I will be doing my first cook on the Weber SmokeFire EX6 pellet grill, and I have to say I was SO impressed at how well this Gen2 Weber SmokeFire smoked these ribs! This is just a basic and delicious smoked ribs recipe that you can do in your backyard on any cooker! I should also mention this video was a collaboration video with my buddy Tommy over at ‪@thegalleryBBQ‬! He also smoked a rack of ribs on his SmokeFire so be sure to head on over to his channel and see how his rib recipe turned out, and be sure to tell him that I sent ya!

Let's get into the cook:

-I started off with a rack of full spare ribs trimmed down to St. Louis Cut ribs. I removed the membrane and squared them up just make them look nice.

-To season these ribs I went with one rub, Texas Rib Grind made by Bill Purvis from ‪@ChickenFriedBBQ‬. Bill really did a great job developing this rub and I highly recommend giving it a try! You can order it here: https://chickenfriedbbq.com/shop/TEXA...

-Once I got the ribs seasoned, I fired up my pellet grill to 275º and got them on the cooker. At this point it's just a matter of cooking the ribs until you get the color you want and the bark is set. This takes about 1.5-2 hours. I did spritz when they started looking dry just with a little plain water.

-Once the color was good and the bark was set I wrapped these ribs. My wrap was very simple and consisted of 4 pads of butter and some BBQ sauce. I opted to use Head Country Apple Habanero because it has that sweet heat that really goes well with ribs (don't worry, it's not spicy when it's cooked).

-After about 1-1.5 hours in the wrap I checked for tenderness and these smoked ribs were done, but I wasn't finished yet. I removed the ribs from the wrap and got them back onto the pellet grill for about 3 minutes. The goal here is to just dry them off and get some color back to them.

-After 3 minutes, the ribs were dry and ready for a glaze of sauce. To sauce I just used my wrap liquid and let the sauce set for 5 minutes.

-After 5 minutes, I got these ribs onto the cutting board and let them rest for a bit before slicing into them, and man were they so good!

I highly recommend giving this smoked rib recipe a try on your next rib cook. Whether your smoking ribs on a pellet cooker or on any other cooker, they are guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser!
