If you're actually wondering why I messed up with the spotify accuracy here's an explanation. Basically spotify has always told its users that it only counts something as a listen if you listen to the first 30 seconds. They've said this for years and years and that's what ya boy went into the data thinking. You can request your accounts data for most sites, and when I received the file there was so many things. I only focused on the listening history though. What I did was do some simple spreadsheets stuff and counted how many times a song/ artist popped up. This was exactly like spotify wrapped said they record your listening, however my was completely different. I triple checked a million times and it was still way off from my spotify wrapped. But what I didn't realize was that there was a small hidden variable inside the files that I had to attach to the listening history. This was milliseconds you listen to the song. See because spotify was saying that the first 30 seconds was what made a song count as a listen, I just thought that would count for the data. Well I guess the data spotify will send you was just way more powerful than I thought it was, because it records every single milisecond listened on the app. So just to double check I filtered out everything under 30,000 ms and it matched more with my spotify wrapped. So that's my bad. I honestly feel like it was such an excusable mistake given that they have "hidden" files and spotify advertises its listening inaccurately but whatever. my bad.
