Princess Hwaeok (1717-1718) was Joseon's 21st king, Yeongjo's eldest daughter, the sister of Prince Hyojang, and Jeongjo's (Lee San) aunt.
She was born in 1717, when Yeongjo was still a prince, Yeoning-gun, as the first daughter from his first love Royal Consort Jeong.
When Princess Hwaeok was born, Yeongjo was 24 years old which in the Joseon days meant he had the first child at a late age.
Princess Hwasun was Joseon's 21st king Yeongjo's daughter, her mother was Lee Junchul's daughter Royal Consort Jeong, her brother was the posthumous king Jinjong (Prince Hyojang), and her sister was Princess Hwaeok, and her nephew was Jeongjo (Lee San).
Of all the Joseon princesses, she's the only one named virtuous woman. Jeongjo to honor his aunt Princess Hwasun's fidelity, he named her a virtuous women and made a virtuous woman gate for her.
The mother of Princess Hwaeok and Princess Hwasun and Yeongjo's first love, Royal Consort Jeong became Yeongjo's consort when when was still Yeonging-gun.
