VN24 - Unna / Germany - Two people were life-threateningly injured in a traffic accident on the A44 near Unna on Friday (August 30) at about 10:50 a.m. According to initial findings, a 22-year-old girl from the Czech Republic was driving her car on the right lane towards Dortmund. Shortly before the Dortmund/Unna junction, she steered sharply to the right - possibly to get into the parallel lane in the direction of the A1. The female driver apparently lost control of the car. She drove up the crash barriers between the main and parallel lanes and collided with a concrete sign bridge there. The 22-year-old was trapped in the car after the accident and had to be rescued by the fire brigade. She and her 27-year-old co-driver from the Czech Republic suffered life-threatening injuries. A rescue helicopter airlifted the female driver to a Hospital. An ambulance brought the passenger to a hospital for further treatment. The parallel carriageway had to be closed during the accident recording and salvage work. Around 13.05 the road was clear again. (Pol-Do)
