Martin Place is one of the most important new stations on the Sydney Metro City & Southwest extension. And it's also one of the most complex.

So in this video, I will explain how Martin Place Metro Station will work. I'll cover the location of the entrances on Castlereagh Street, Hunter Street, Elizabeth Street and Martin Place. I'll then reveal where the escalators and lifts are likely to be.

I'll explain the layout of the north and south concourses, the atrium, and the arrivals hall that connects with the platforms, 25 metres below ground. And you'll discover how the interchange between metro and the Eastern Suburbs Line will work.

I'll also cover the over station developments for both Martin Place North and Martin Place South. These are the commercial office towers that are being built above the station entrances. However, it's not just office space, there will be restaurants, cafes and other retail as well.

This is a super exciting part of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest Project, and this video will help you understand this fascinating and complex station before it opens in 2024.

A huge thanks to Sydney Metro for allowing me to use parts of their animated artist impression video. Here is a link to their original video -    • Sydney Metro: Martin Place integrated...

Accuracy
I do my best to make the commentary in these videos as accurate as possible by checking facts on the internet and other sources. However, sometimes the information isn't available, so I'll use my railway knowledge and insight to explain something to the best of my ability.

If accuracy is important, do check the comments, as other viewers will often pick up on things I've missed or any mistakes made. Also note that for older videos, things may change over time, causing some information to become out of date.

Construction Sites, Maintenance Facilities and other Private Property
All footage of construction sites is taken from a public vantage point. The only exception is if it's an open day or I have special permission to access the site. The iPhone's small lens and zoom function makes it easier to film through small gaps in hoardings or fencing, so it may look like I'm on site when I'm not! If you would like to know the exact filming location, then ask me in the comments.
