Today, we see service 129 from the newly opened Tampines North Bus Interchange on its first day of amendment. This video also incorporates a new outro where it is easier to read the text (if people even watch the outro).

SBS Transit Bus Service 129 is a trunk service plying between Tampines North and Saint Michael’s, passing through Tampines Concourse, Tampines Avenue 1, Bartley Road East, Toa Payoh estate and Whampoa estate. It is the seventieth (70th) Bus Service launched under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), and was launched as part of the Bus Service Enhancements with the opening of Tampines Concourse Bus Interchange on 18 December 2016.

Service 129 was extended to Tampines North Bus Interchange via Tampines Ave 9 & Tampines North Drive 2 from 27 Nov 2022.

Bus Service 129 is a trunk service from Tampines North to Saint Michael’s. Apart from benefitting residents in the Tampines, Bartley, Toa Payoh and Whampoa estates, Service 129 opens up a new corridor between Tampines and Toa Payoh / Bishan with a semi-express sector along the Bartley Road / Bartley Road East viaducts; the first bus service to do so.

The route also complements existing bus services for the heavily-utilized sector between Tampines Central and Temasek Polytechnic, such as Services 8, 15, 23 and 69.

Red and white plates are used to help commuters boarding from Whampoa Road, Jalan Bahagia and Jalan Tenteram, as buses in both directions (towards Saint Michael’s and towards Tampines North) call at the same bus stops. Apart from the destination display of the bus before boarding, commuters can check the service plate colour displayed on the windscreen. Red Plate buses head towards Tampines North while White Plate buses head towards Saint Michael’s.

The service was extended from Tampines Concourse Bus Interchange to Tampines North Bus Interchange following its opening on 27 Nov 2022.
