Some impressions of the trains running on the famous "Malmbanan" (Sweden) and "Ofotbanen" (Norway) Luleå to Narvik via Boden, Gällivare, Kiruna, Abisko, and Riksgränsen.
The line is known for its massive iron ore trains hauled by some of the worlds most powerful locomotives, the LKAB IORE. With 10800 kW, they haul iron ore trains with up to 8600 t from the mines in Kiruna and Gällivare to the ports of Narvik and Luleå, where the iron pellets are transferred to cargo ships.
Other guests in this video are the local trains and nighttrains with classic rolling stock as well as the railcare / Kaunis Iron ore trains from Svappavaara to Narvik.
