Most every roof system is different in some way and as a result there could be other components that should be evaluated. If you are planning on re-surfacing your roof, I recommend you have it performed to the Alabama Fortification Standards, which requires an inspector to be involved from start to finish. This can save you money on your Wind Coverage Insurance. Best of all you will know you are getting it done the Right Way. There have been many people who have lost money, from poorly installed shingles. Take your time finding the Right Roofer. I evaluated 14 roofers and settled on the one I thought would do the best job. FYI: They are not going to be the cheapest. Your Roof System is one of the most important components to your home. If you decide to go with a metal roof, I recommend you use a contractor that specializes in metal roofs. However, I think shingle roofs are better. Metal Roofs are hazardous to walk on, they can block cell phone service and there is a risk of thermal transfer to attic system. Just to name a few.
