ഉഡുപ്പി ജില്ലയിലെ കുന്ദാപുരയിൽ നിന്നും 35 കിലോമീറ്റർ മാറി കമലശില ബ്രഹ്മി ദുര്ഗ പരമേശ്വരി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനും കൊല്ലൂർ മൂകാംബികക്കും സമീപത്തായി ആണ് സുപർഷ ഗുഹ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. [Suparsha Cave is located 35 km from Kundapura in Udupi district, near Kamalashila Brahmi Durga Parameshwari Temple and Kollur Mukambika.]

കൃതയുഗത്തിൽ സുപർഷ രാജാവ് തപസ്സനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നതിനും പാപങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് മോക്ഷം നേടുന്നതിനുമായി ഒരു പുതിയ സ്ഥലം അന്വേഷിച്ചു നടന്നുവെന്നും ഈ ഗുഹയിൽ വെച്ചാണ് ഭഗവാൻ ശിവന്റെ വരം ലഭിച്ചത് എന്നും ഐതിഹ്യങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു. [Legend has it that during the Krita Yuga, King Suparsha was in search of a new place to perform penance and get salvation from his sins, and it was in this cave that he received the boon of Lord Shiva.]

സരസ്വതി, ലക്ഷ്മി, കാളി എന്നിങ്ങനെ മൂന്ന് ദേവതകൾ കൂടിച്ചേരുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണ് ഈ ഗുഹയെന്നും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. [The cave is also said to be the meeting place of the three goddesses Saraswati, Lakshmi and Kali.]
