At the opening of the Funkausstellung in West Berlin on 25 August 1967, Vice-Chancellor Willy Brandt symbolically launches colour television by pressing a button. The politician describes the transition from broadcasting in black and white to colour as progress in the modern world and a great technical step. He praises German industry from invention to production as well as the cooperation in colour television technology in Western Europe. Willy Brandt regrets that no cooperation with the GDR has succeeded so far.
