Episode 23 (   • LOGIC PRO X - Making Groove Templates  ) was all about creating a Groove Template. This is a ‘Quantize’ pattern which can be generated in Logic from a MIDI region, with the positions of the notes within that pattern then being available to assign to other Tracks in your mix. This week, we’re returning to that idea but learning how we can do this with Logic’s Groove Track. I’m going to create a Hi-Hat part whose notes I’ve manually adjusted to create something wonky. I’ve then allocated this part as a Groove Track, meaning that I can ask all other tracks - MIDI and Audio - to conform to its rhythm. I’ll also let you into a little tip which I find helpful when the Groove Track doesn’t groove as consistently as you might expect.
