As those of you who have watched my video about Logic 11’s Session Player additions will know, I have mixed feelings about that technology. However, their arrival has brought two new additions to Logic’s line up of instrument plug-ins; Studio Piano and Studio Bass. This week, I’m taking you on a tour of the 4 options within Studio Piano, offering a quick parameter tour of the options and putting the Pianos through their paces.

Towards the end of the video, I’ll show you my favourite of the models, both played without any processing and also through both MIDI and Audio processing FX. It’s a good moment for the Piano in a range of media music contexts and - spoiler alert - Studio Piano is a welcome step in that direction.
