^ this message is posted in the Detroit Pistons locker room. It essentially means when the shot clock is under 7 seconds, you gotta go get a bucket. Points per shot attempt averages go out the window when the shot clock is running down… because the worst thing you can do when the shot clock is running is NOT get a shot up.

This is where teams will be more relaxed about letting players shoot midrange jumpers (a long 2 is by far the least efficient shot in basketball). It pays to have players who can create their own opportunities & make something out of nothing when the clock is running down
