This video analyzes the character of No Face in Spirited Away, the 2001 Japanese animated movie (anime) directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced through Studio Ghibli.

No Face behaves very much like the villain of the central half of Spirited Away, but Chihiro seems to be the only person in Yubaba's bath house who refuses to see him as evil. Instead, she thinks that No Face's monstrous behavior and appearance is really a consequence of the evil psychic energy inside of the bath house.

My analysis explains Chihiro's insight into No Face's nature and behavior. To truly understand No Face we have to understand the very fact that he is 'faceless.' For his facelessness is the reason why he is driven to such madness when he wanders inside of Yubaba's bath house. -- Or such is my thesis in this video!
