Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice speaks after his team beat the host Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 at Nationwide Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024.

Instead of a traditional home opener, the Blue Jackets celebrated the lives of Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau.

The Panthers wore No. 13 on their warmup jerseys as well as wear the special tribute decals on their helmets.

Florida was coming off a 4-3 win in Boston after getting a pair of goals from Sam Reinhart — who was playing in his 700th NHL game — and Anton Lundell; Sergei Bobrovsky made 24 saves in the win.

Tuesday, Florida got goals from Lundell, Reinhart, Dmitry Kulikov, and Eetu Luostarinen.

Spencer Knight made 35 saves.
