With the Union Pacific 4014 Big Boy steam engine making its way back west and a stop at the Rochelle Railroad Park, I went to Rochelle, IL quite early to a decent crowd for 5:45 am with it building rapidly til when the Big Boy arrived where there was easily a couple thousand. Of course with two active rail lines there was a lot more to see as well including a long eastbound Union Pacific mixed manifest with a former NS High Hood Geep trailing along with a mixture of NS and CN engines and a horn show from the leader. A couple BNSF trains in this portion with more in the next. Definitely the attendance record at the Rochelle Railroad Park and for good reason for the largest operating steam locomotive.
