신명기 1:28-33절 

28 우리가 어디로 가랴 우리의 형제들이 우리를 낙심하게 하여 말하기를 그 백성은 우리보다 장대하며 그 성읍들은 크고 성곽은 하늘에 닿았으며 우리가 또 거기서 아낙 자손을 보았노라 하는도다 하기로
29내가 너희에게 말하기를 그들을 무서워하지 말라 두려워하지 말라
30너희보다 먼저 가시는 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 애굽에서 너희를 위하여 너희 목전에서 모든 일을 행하신 것 같이 이제도 너희를 위하여 싸우실 것이며
31광야에서도 너희가 당하였거니와 사람이 자기의 아들을 안는 것 같이 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 너희가 걸어온 길에서 너희를 안으사 이 곳까지 이르게 하셨느니라 하나
32이 일에 너희가 너희의 하나님 여호와를 믿지 아니하였도다
33그는 너희보다 먼저 그 길을 가시며 장막 칠 곳을 찾으시고 밤에는 불로, 낮에는 구름으로 너희가 갈 길을 지시하신 자이시니라

Deuteronomy 1: 28-33

28 Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.

29 Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.

30 The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;

31 And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the Lord thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.

32 Yet in this thing ye did not believe the Lord your God,

33 Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.
