As captain for the Mein Schiff fleet, Jan F. Schubert has been sailing the world's oceans since 2020. However, the Fischland native has had a love of seafaring since his childhood. But before joining the navy as a teenager, he first had to wash dishes in a government hotel in the former GDR on the Baltic Sea. "From dishwasher to captain," is how Schubert sums up his professional career so far.
