In the fall of 2019 I set out with two friends to do a pop-up Golden Girls event in NYC. Creating a type of faith based off the wisdom, advice, humor and examples of The Golden Girls - The Gospel of the Golden Girls was born. Popping up in the west village of NYC on September 23, 2019 we handed out brochures for the gospel, talked to unsuspecting folks, tried to collect lingerie for needy sexy people, and connect with other fans. We had a blast.

I spent years trying to figure out what to do with the footage. Then in 2023, an unexpected and devastating life event make me rethink it all.

Courtney Antonioli
In 2017 her solo-show, “18 days. 48 girls.” earned NYC’s Off-Broadway Frigid Festival Audience Choice Award for best show and she performs all around New York City. Her storytelling has been featured on The Moth Radio Hour and Podcast and one of Conde Nests stories of the year 2018. She hosts a sold out Golden Girls Bingo at Housing Works Bookstore & Café- the only interactive game of its kind. Her writing can be found in Grok Nation, Gold Comedy, Nerdist and The A.V. Club and more.
