In this video we look at how to do Lewis Dot structures for polyatomic ions -- they have RESONANCE structures... this just means that there's more than 1 way to draw them because the electrons are "delocalized". Sounds confusing, but I promise, it's not.

In some of these structures, we can also "force" some atoms to break the octet rule - but that's okay because electronegativity will help balance our that electron discrepancy.
