In this video, I will show you one of my favorite ways to use artificial shrimp when fishing from the beach. There are two key components when it comes to fishing with artificial lure:

1. Presentation
2. Time in the strike zone

When fishing from the beach, wind, waves, and currents can impact your presentation and time in the strike zone. The wind can impact your ability to cast to the troughs and holes where target species might be held up and the waves and current will toss your lure all over the place.

One way to counteract the conditions of the surf is to add weight, but at the same time how do we preserve the most natural presentation of the artificial shrimp?

I have found that the Carolina rig is a great rig that adds the desired weight need to extend your casting distance and extend the time in the strike zone while also allowing the artificial shrimp to be presented in the most natural way possible.

In this video, I show you how I rig up artificial shrimp using the Carolina rig and show you how I use this setup to catch fishing from the beach.
