I love generative patches on the Mother-32. I let them play for hours…

This generative patch needs to set first two parameters in the SETUP MODE: Assignable Output to Sequencer Step Random (mode 8); and Tempo Input to CV Input Mode (mode 1). Refer to the manual to do that.

Now, time to patch. Connect the ASSIGN output to MULT. Then connect MULT1 to VCF RES and MULT2 to VC MIX CTRL, so the sequencer will randomly affect the filter’s resonance and the mixer.
Connect the VC MIX output to the TEMPO input, and LFO TRI to MIX2. With these two connections, the tempo of the sequencer will depend on the TEMPO and MIX CV knobs and the settings of the LFO. To add more randomness, connect the LFO SQ to the RUN/STOP input.
Connect the VCO SAW to EXT AUDIO and KB to MIX CV. This will create some nice waveform variations depending on the note played by the sequencer.
Finally, run the sequencer in random walk mode (kb + step + 4 buttons). I just added some nice delay effects with FX AID from Happy Nerding.

There are a lot of interesting sweet spots and sound variations with this patch. I have programmed a simple 8 notes sequence, but you can enter up to 32 notes to create more variations. You can also try to connect MULT1 on the filter’s cutoff or both with the resonance using a stack cable if you have one.

Enjoy!
