Scroll down for ingredients This particular Sambal Sotong is made out of rehydrated dried cuttlefish (not to be confused with the other Sambal Sotong made with fresh squid). It is a delicious and popular Malay dish that goes well with rice, especially Nasi Lemak. Our family love to have it with Fried Mee Hoon... that's our combo of choice! Give it a try ❤️

Ingredients:
Cuttlefish 1 large (Brown Cuttlefish/ Sotong Rendam)

For the Sambal paste:
12 dried chillies
2 fresh red chillies
10 small onions
3 cloves garlic
1 tsp toasted belacan

1 tbsp light soya sauce
1 tbsp dark soya sauce
1 1/2 tap salt (to taste)
1 tbsp sugar (to taste)
1 tbsp thick tamarind juice

1 medium red onion (cut into wedges, to saute at the end with sotong)
