Liberating Cinema hosted a panel discussion, Developing capabilities of youth in South Africa through community film experiences, at the HDCA 2023 Conference in Sofia Bulgaria.
This panel presentation was delivered by filmmaker and community communicator Mcebisi Sidlai.
The conference theme, “vulnerability, human development and cooperative re-building in turbulent times” provided our point of departure to discuss the recent projects of our researchers.

The Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA) is a global community of academics and practitioners that seeks to build an intellectual community around the ideas of human development and the capability approach, and relate these ideas to the policy arena. The association promotes research within many disciplines, ranging from economics to philosophy, development studies, health, education, law, government, sociology, and more.
HDCA 2023 took place 11 - 13 September in Sofia, Bulgaria and online
