In this video we experienced a very special event here in Puerto Rico. El Festival Capital (Capital Festival), is a 4 day festival that is held in Viejo San Juan every 20 years to celebrate San Juan's "birthday" as the capital of Puerto Rico. And this year marked 500 years so it was a huge holiday for Puerto Ricans.

The festival capital is known for showcasing the island's prized sailboat named "La Regata," and this year La Regata was accompanied by other sailboats from the Americas including: Mexico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Colombia, and Brasil. Festival goers were giving the chance to board the sailboats of Colombia and Mexico.

During this 4 day festival celebration, concerts are held every night with a different setlist every night. When we went to the festival, La India, the famous salsa singer from The Bronx, NY was headlining. She had a late show that started after 10pm. We arrived at the festival at 11 in the morning and stayed out for 11 hours just to see her perform. And boy was it worth it!
