Made our first ever trip to the Douglaston Salmon Run (DSR) section of the Salmon River in Pulaski, New York. There were good numbers of Chinook and Coho salmon in the river, and despite a good number of hook ups, it was quite a challenge to land a few. These were easily the hardest fighting fish I've ever hooked on a fly rod. Kept one for eating. Olive colored woolly buggers and egg sucking leeches were my hot patterns. Will definitely be going back here in the future.
