Solar power contributes ~5.5% to global electricity production and is growing consistently with a target of reaching 20% of total electricity production by 2030.
In India, wind and solar power generation has jumped from 0.3% in 2000 to 9.9% in 2023 and has huge potential to grow. Of course, there are challenges in the way. For example, wider adoption needs an administrative push and a clear benefit for the user.
In this episode of Climate Conversations, we have Shreya Mishra, co-founder of Solar Square helping us understand the industry and detail how they have managed to help Indians save 40Cr in electricity bills so far.
