This critical report from the 1980 GDR programme "Prisma" deals with the quality of East Berlin restaurants. A fraud case brought against a waiter serves as a starting point to show how shortcomings in the restaurant industry are dealt with. 900 inspections were carried out in pubs and restaurants in East Berlin, examining food tests, billing and the possibilities of reserving seats. Trainees from the catering industry also have their say, giving their views on honesty and correct behaviour at work.
