HiPAP (High Precision Acoustic Positioning) system is an important positioning system for ROV (Remotely Operated under-water Vehicle) operations.
It provides three-dimensional transponder positions with respect to the vessel.
This type of system provides an accuracy of a few centimeters to tens of meters and can be used over operating distance from tens of meters to tens of kilometers.
