You can try to workout/race without a proper warmup, but I certainly don't suggest it! This is the EXACT warmup routine I did before every workout and race of my pro career. Takes 45+ min, but it's worth it. For you weekly mileage counters out there, I called this warmup 3 miles in my training log.
