Minority shareholders of Great Eastern had their request to include three resolutions in the recent AGM dismissed.

Alvin believes at least one resolution—rewarding Great Eastern management with OCBC shares, which he sees as a misalignment of interests—is valid.

OCBC has now stepped in to buy out Great Eastern from the minority shareholders, but the offer price remains 30% below the value of Great Eastern.
