Ever wondered what it takes to be a conference interpreter? What languages you’d need to know? Where you could work? What skills you’d need to hone? What kinds of courses and practise opportunities are out there to learn those skills? Where you might be able to work? How much you could earn? Whether you’re an experienced interpreter, considering the profession or just curious, come along to find out and discuss the answers to these and other questions.

Oscar Hughes (28) is an intepreter who has so far worked for companies, associations, government and political groups in Switzerland, international organisations in Geneva and different EU institutions. He also has translation experience working for the Swiss government, Swiss railways, the European Commission and Oxford University Press. He speaks 10+ languages at intermediate or advanced level.
