My name is “Wingit” and I am attempting an Appalachian Trail 2024 Thru Hike - without much of a plan, in fact, I am Winging it along the way. Here is another day I am grateful to share with everyone.

I made it back to Harper’s Ferry, WV from my friends house in Baltimore at 8am but didn’t resume my thru hike attempt until almost 2pm - in the scorching heat of the afternoon. I only made it 4.5 miles until I tapped out in order to wait until tomorrow to hike. The heat was unbearable and even the great Potomac River appeared dry with exposed rocks etc.

It may have been a short hike through historical downtown, But it was a magical one seeing the oldest building in the area and a cathedral church. I could have spent days walking around this city. I hope to visit it once again to spend more time learning about this unique place.

Please let me know your thoughts and if you haven’t joined us on this journey, please subscribe and join us as we all trek the road together.

DONATIONS - My needs are met so
ANY & ALL donations will be utilized to help less fortunate hikers. Many are hiking with minimal food & substandard gear, infrequent opportunities to get out of inclement weather, do laundry, or acquire a bunk at a local hostile. Many survive by donated gear from hiker boxes to experience the magic of the Appalachian Trail.

I believe the gift is in the give and utilize every opportunity to be of service to others; on the trail and off. I do what I can, any additional contributions will further validate the AT Mantra “The Trail Provides.”

Love & Peace,

“Wingit”
