Around noon yesterday LI 165 began its journey out to Port Jeff yard to bring back 409/5021 with 4 cars, but the crew expired and ended up tying down unexpectedly in Greenlawn's second track. When the next crew arrived they encountered brake issues with 165 and couldn't get moving again, which meant the train had to remain there through the night until additional power could arrive. Just before noon today I was surprised when I heard they had sent out 416/5020 as rescue power, meaning the 1500 would be stuck between the passenger sets on either end. The final consist ended up being 5020/416/165/5021/409 + 4 cars, all in Greenlawn's seldom used second track. Definitely a rescue move to remember...
