I was visiting my brother in Plattsburgh, New York and I took a day aside to railfan along one of Canada’s busiest mainlines, the CN Kingston Subdivision. I saw a good mixture of CN freights and Via Rail passenger trains including the dazzling new Siemens equipment. I also saw CPKC and EXO commuter train action on the parallel CPKC mainline further east towards Montreal. That is arguably the busiest area for rail action in Canada as you get to see 4 different operators of trains between the parallel trunk lines.
