The Best Pools in Malaga ARROYO DEL QUEJIGO
Medium difficulty route (5 linear km) that starts from a dirt road located on the MA-8302 highway Km. 7.5, past the town of Genalguacíl, and belonging to the municipality of Jubrique, we can leave the car at the beginning from the road or go down to almost the first pond on a dirt road that is not in very good condition but you can go down it.
I visited four pools on my tour, CHARCO AZUL, CHARCO ENCANADO, CHARCO CUADRADO and finally THE POZA DE MARÍA TEODORA.
The Route of the Quejigo stream where the waters flow from the source of the El Quejigo stream, a tributary of the Almarchal river, which in turn is a tributary of the Genal river. They are natural pools with crystal-clear waters, located between high gorges and surrounded by dense pine forests in which ferns abound.
The waters that reach the puddles/pools do so falling through beautiful waterfalls, since they must overcome the large rocks that the stream has in its channel.
All this gives this place a truly unique appearance, of extraordinary beauty.
