In this video we will discuss the question if V-Ray is the most flexible Render Engine out there. I will give you 3 reasons for why I personally think that is the case.

We will first discover how we can use Environment Overrides to tweak the appearance of our environment and are able to control various aspects of it separately from each other. We will differenciate Global Environment Overrides that affect the whole scene and Local Environment Overrides which only affect individual shaders.

Afterwards we will see how we can use Override Materials to tweak define in detail how our shaders appear or affect our scene. Using V-Ray we are able to completely break away from bein Physically Correct and completely control all aspects of our shaders.

Finally we will also take a deep dive into Object Properties. Using Trace Sets we are also able to completely define how separate objects affect each other in detail.

From my perspective V-Ray stands out in this regard compared to other render Engines such as Corona, Octane, Redshift, Arnold, Cycles, CyclesX, Eevee and countless others which are often much more restrictive in that regard.
