What started out as an idea by Savy Naidoo, during an afternoon walk with Reena Govender, turned into a fun little event with the youth at Kingdom Life Academy.

Most youth don't know their way around a kitchen. So participating in a cooking competition might be a little daunting for them but making a sandwich is certainly doable. That's how "Once upon a sandwich" came about.

An easy and fun activity to setup at Church or even at family get togethers, it's sure to bring a smile to everyone's faces.

What we found particularly entertaining was the witty comments and banter from these otherwise quiet kids.

Once upon a time
in a land far away.
There lived 4 teens
that tried to keep hunger at bay.

They were given the ingredients
Without any instructions
With no Google, no tiktok
no outside help to speak off

Nothing but their wits did they have
and their imagination as props.

Who will survive this ordeal?
Who will rise to the top?
Will the sandwiches be tops
Or an absolute flop?

Let this tale begin, an epic if you will.
