Isabel and I spent a month on the road exploring the Pacific Northwest and by far our favorite stop was the Oregon Coast.

The coast offers such a variety of experiences and adventures: from beach walks to thick forest hikes, sand dunes, and small ocean towns, the Oregon coast has it all.

Our 4-day itinerary felt like a perfect amount of time to fully explore the coast (though we would have loved a few more days to enjoy these places and slow down). We also know we barely scratched the surface of spots to see along the coast but for having such a short time it did feel like we got a great sense of the region.

Our full itinerary is below:

Day 1: Explore Ecola State Park during the day for views of Canon Beach from the North. Afterwards, Canon Beach - arrive afternoon, explore the town, and go to Haystack Rock for golden hour/sunset
Day 2: Sunrise Canon Beach, wait for the tide to go out to see more of the coast. Journey south to Oswald State Park and hike the 5 mile out-and-back trail to the viewpoint. Drive down to Pacific City to hike the sand dune for golden hour / sunset.
Day 3: Drive south toward Samual H. Boardman and stop off at Devil's Punchbowl and Thors Well along the way. Don't be afraid to stop off in some of the small coastal towns to grab lunch, hang out at the beach, take a dip, or simply stretch your legs.
Day 4: Take the entire day for Samual H. Boardman Scenic Parkway. Explore Arch Rock, Secret Beach, and Natural Bridges. There are so many more stops to see here too, it would be a good idea to plan extra time to explore.

*Weather is constantly changing and feels very unpredictable. In late summer/fall wildfires can also be a problem.
