Each year the Big-T Airpark in Senoia, Georgia hosts their annual fly in. This year over 50 airplanes attended! We flew early from Nashville, TN to Senoia, GA to get a good spot for camping. The Big-T Airpark is southwest of Atlanta, and under the Class B shelf.

This was the first time I have ever landed on a grass runway. We flew over the field to get a look at the runway and approach. I couldn't really tell how many trees were in the way until I was on final. It was pretty exciting to set N234YP down in a new place, with houses and hangers lining each side of the runway. Fun, music, great food, airplanes, a car show, and really nice people, what more could you want.

After the event, most of the airplanes left, and the band packed up in the night. Camping in Georgia was peaceful, cool and relaxing. We woke up to an empty field, aside from a few other airplane campers. I'll admit I am NOT a morning person, but I was definitely awake when we heard the sound of airplanes taxing and flying above. And, we now know that N234YP likes a grass runway, so more grass strips to come... Such a great event, and a fun trip.

After that, we headed to Milton, Florida (2R4), just north east of Pensacola to visit family. And then in the evening we flew back home to John C. Tune Airport (KJWN). The flight home was golden hour sunset into night ops, and I love flying at night.
