Thomas Alva Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio. He is the youngest of seven siblings, the son of the couple Samuel Ogden Edison Jr. and Nancy Matthews Elliott.

Little Edison only went to school for a few weeks. At that time, his teacher warned Edison, because he was considered a student who was often left behind, was not smart, and was considered not talented, to hear the words of his little teacher Edison ran while crying to his house. Seeing that his child was looked down upon and considered stupid, his mother was determined and decided to teach her own child with the pattern of Home Schooling. During his mother's teaching, Edison's education was obtained from the School of Natural Philosophy by RG Parker and The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.

At the age of 11, Edison learned self-taught, slowly showing great curiosity about everything by reading various books.

At the age of 12, young Edison began independently working on a small scale, selling newspapers on the Port Huron railroad to Detroit.
