This is a great time of deer to work on your hunting property to help improve the likelihood of seeing deer next season where you hunt. There's a lot of techniques to do this: food plots, timber stand improvement, prescribed fire, etc. A bit of planning now and you'll be much more likely to put some venison in your freezer next fall and antlers on your wall.

Dr. Grant Woods developed a plan for Jason In Arkansas who had a 120 acres that was previously used as a cattle farm, mixed pastures and woodlots. Grant looks at the features of the property and advises Jason on his next steps for better hunting on this farm: identifying/creating deer travel corridors, where to create bottlenecks, bedding areas, sanctuaries, property screens, how to establish native grasses, where to use prescribed fire. With this plan, this hunter will have many more hunt-able areas - destination areas that will give him many, many options to place a hunting stand or blind. After this plan goes into effect he will have more than 4 miles of edge for deer to travel. #deerhunting #TeamOutdoors
