This video shows how to diagnose failing bearings in a Ryobi 40v brushless electric lawn mower motor and how to replace them. The motor is very simple to repair, and the parts cost very little (less than $4 for the parts used on this motor). I will include links to the parts I used below.
This motor was being used in my Electric Lawn Tractor Conversion for about a year and a half, when it started getting super noisy. I found the bearings had failed due to stress from the drive belt. I will post another video about how I have attempted to solve this problem for the future. I will also be showing more about the wiring for these motors to make them reversible and have a variable speed control in an upcoming video.
The replacement bearings came from PGN Bearings, which I bought on eBay. The motor requires two different bearings.
