I’m gratefully back fishing again after several months recovering from some medical issues. To start off my SRC season, I decided to try out a new (new for me, that is) fly pattern – Kent Edmond’s ‘Stealth Bomber’. This is a part gurgler/part diver that was created for bass and bream, although it has been successfully used to catch other species. Here’s the recipe for my ‘baitfish’ version:
Hook: Gamakatsu SL11-3H or Ahrex SA220 in size 6-8
Thread: UTC 140d in white
Tail: grey-pearl barred silicone legs / light grey bucktail / pearl Krystal Flash / white bucktail
Overwing: a few strands of pearl Flashabou
Underbody: pearl Ice Dub
Body: light grey 2mm fly-foam
