Harvesting fennels occurs around 90-100 days post-planting, with fennel bulbs typically dug out manually or using mechanized equipment. In regions where fennel flowers are harvested for their seeds, farmers employ traditional methods, utilizing knives to cut the flowers, while simultaneously integrating mechanized mobile processing units for sorting and cleaning. Upon arrival at processing facilities, harvested fennels undergo washing to remove soil and impurities, followed by sorting based on size and quality. The fennels are then packaged, either in bulk containers or smaller retail-friendly formats, to cater to various distribution channels.
