How to make a delicious and soft breakfast biscuit with sausage and cheese.

Ingredients
5 oz. Breakfast Sausage (About 1 Cup Cooked)
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
¼ Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 ¼ teaspoons Salt
1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
1 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
6 Tablespoons Cold Unsalted Butter, cut into pieces
1 Cup Shredded Cheese of Choice ( I used Muenster)
1 ¼ Cups Cold Buttermilk
Directions:
1. In a pan over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through. Crumble sausage into small pieces, you should have about 1 cup. Remove from heat and set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, Italian seasoning , and red pepper flakes. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in cooked sausage and cheese. Add buttermilk and stir to create a sticky dough (do not overmix). Spoon about 1/2 a cup of dough and drop onto a parchment lined baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between them.
3. Bake in a preheated oven at 425F, until golden brown and cooked through, 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm.
