Hi all,

New dark file devoted this time to an affair which broke out just 40 years ago in Belgium, concerning a fixed match decisive for the quest for the title of champion of Belgium 1982: this is the "Standard-Waterschei" scandal .
Raymond Goethals, coach of the Liège club, wants to ensure victory in the last match of the 1982 Belgian championship, and what's more, 4 days before the only European Cup final contested by the Walloons. Through his players he will convince the Limburgers of Waterschei to ease up. However, the scandal broke out somewhat by chance 2 years later, and the repercussions on Belgian football, then at the top of its art, would be serious.
