Following a deadly shooting in the Alki Beach community, Interim Seattle Police Chief Sue Rahr said the Seattle Police Department (SPD) will focus its resources on curbing the repeated violence that is affecting this popular spot for visitors and recreation.
No arrests have been made and a motive has not been given. However, the police chief does link gun violence to street racing. Late-night car shows and illegal street racing are both things that have routinely occurred near the shooting scene on Harbor Avenue Southwest.
