Welcome to my Persona 1 Review! Persona 1 is a game that doesn't have nearly as much discussion surrounding it as it should. In this Persona 1 Review, I will be analyzing and critiquing Persona 1 on both the Playstation 1 and the Playstation Portable. This Persona 1 analysis will contain spoilers for Persona 1 and will go over some localization changes. This is a follow up to my Persona 4 analysis, so make sure you watch that as well. This Persona 1 review will contain spoilers as it's an in-depth analysis.

If you were to ask people their opinions on the Persona franchise, an overwhelming majority would assume that the topic of the conversation would be about the quality of Persona 3, Persona 4 or Persona 5. As a self proclaimed massive Persona fan, I am very guilty of this school of thought. It got me thinking, why don’t people talk about the Persona games prior to Persona 3 nearly as much. That’s not to say that there isn’t discussion surrounding the classic games, in fact, Persona 2 in particular is a favourite among quite a few people. But a game that almost no one seems to talk about is the game that kicked off of this smt spinoff series to begin with. So I’ve decided that for the next couple of Persona videos, I’ll be giving the spotlight to these games.

This is actually my first time playing through Persona 1, and I’ll be using the playstation portable remaster that was released back in 2009 for the basis of the video. Persona 1’s north american playstation 1 release is actually very infamous because of how many things were altered or just straight up removed from the game. Thankfully, the playstation portable translation is much more faithful to the japanese source and the missing content has been restored. I’ll go into more detail about the original translation when I talk about the snow queen quest as I think it’s actually very interesting.
