If people are going to change up characters and story points they can’t always reuse dialogue from the original movie they’re remaking.
By changing the Beasts character it completely throws off the dialogue in this scene. And by changing certain story points earlier in the movie some of the lines in this scene aren’t even applicable.
I just can’t believe a movie with this big of a budget and so much talent behind it just copy and pasted this scene without considering what it meant for the characters and movie.
